Epic Games has announced Unreal Engine 6, a new engine that merges Unreal Engine 5 and Unreal Editor for Fortnite into a single platform, built around a new programming language called Verse. Over time Epic plans to move gameplay programming away from traditional Blueprints and C++ toward Verse, though the shift is gradual. Blueprints and Actors stay fully supported through UE6 Early Access and the releases that follow, and Epic has committed to shipping migration tools before anything is actually retired.
